This is a beautifully written and expressed piece by Tracy, who writes FEC-THis, a blog about her experience with breast cancer. Tracy lives in Great Britain, is in her early 40’s, and has a teenaged son.
And yes, this is the same Tracy who writes thoughtful and supportive comments on my blog.
You, Elizabeth, are a very lovely lady indeed. Not because you’ve been kind enough to do this but because your heart is generous and your soul gracious as shown in your writing. I hope someday when we are both recovered that we might meet in person – I love your blog and I love your country (I know it has it’s difficulties just as mine does). Seattle in spite of the rain and traffic – I just read your latest post – is still one of my favourite American cities. Sending you hugs across the Altlantic.
You are so sweet! I would love to meet you in person some day. My husband spent a summer in London when he was 18 and explored parts of England and Scotland. Zoe’s god father is English, from a fishing village near Grimsby. He is a psychology professor at Ohio University in the U.S. now. I can’t imagine how he can stand living so far away from the sea!
But the closest I’ve gotten to your part of the world is Italy and I haven’t been there since my honeymoon in 1990. So who knows? I think I deserve a big trip at least after I pay off these medical bills!
And you are so very welcome to visit us in Seattle. I wouldn’t imagine that you would be put off by a bit of rain.
Ugh, I just looked out the window and it’s getting dark already. It’s only 4pm! Boo! Another month of the shortening days until we start working our way back.
