I am a 51-year old psychologist, wife, and a mother. I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma on 5/24/12.
On 4/27/17 and 5/5/17 I suffered heart attacks from an event of Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD), a rarely diagnosed cause of heart attacks, primarily in women and it is typical for SCAD sufferers to have few or no cardiac risk factors.
Despite all of the commotion in my chest, my eyes are still up here.

I know I am supposed to display this information in a footer on my webpage. I can’t figure out how to do it. From what I gather, doing so requires a knowledge of HTML programming that I don’t have.
Finally, although I can sometimes write like a “know-it-all”, the medical and nutritional information discussed in my blog could be incorrect/ This blog is not to be used as a substitute for seeing professionals who have actual credentials.
I have been laughing my head off in my office, Elizabeth, reading your blog. Not at all what I expected when I refound the link. Girlfriend, you can WRITE and you are extremely funny. Anne LaMott, move on over.
That said, it sounds like unfun and unfunny circumstances have dominated your summer if not your bright and sparkling spirit. Have you got food, flowers, chocolate, diverting novels? Let me know. I work in your ‘hood you know (sort of), and I am your fan.
Love,
Miriam
Thanks so much, friend! I have all of the things you mention except for chocolate (back on Weight Watchers) and your lovely presence. I’ll be around for the next few weeks and would love a visit. Just call, email, or text first to make sure that I am not on Pill Hill doing my medical visit stuff.
Hello! First, I’m not a blog formatting expert, and I’m trying to read about your cancer experience from the start (from the diagnosis), and I can’t find a list of past months to scroll to easily, and I can’t get to the beginning. Is there an easier way? Please help! Thanks!
I’m no expert, either, hence my difficult to navigate blog. So sorry and thanks so much for your interest. Here’s the link to the beginning. https://myeyesareuphere.wordpress.com/2012/05/25/im-not-used-to-failing-tests/
It works — thank you so much! I look forward to reading it.
Elizabeth,
My name is Michael Foti and I am the Director of Business Development and Syndication for Empowered Doctor. Our company, Empowered Doctor, focuses on the latest healthcare news. Currently, we are news affiliates of The Chicago Tribune, Arizona Central, and CBSNewYork, supplying their website’s health sections with the latest advances against cancer. Over the course of our extensive research on the topic of breast cancer, we came across your blog and I found it to have a plethora of great information and I believe it would be very appealing to our readers. We’ve recently launched a program to identify and publcizie someof the top breast cancer-related blogs on the web. As such, I’d like to congratulate you as your blog has been selected as one of Empowered Doctor’s Top Breast Cancer Blogs. I’ve included the code below which will allow you to copy and paste it into your site in order to display your award badge. Again, I’d like to congratulate you on your selection, and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Additionally, be sure to visit both CBSNewYork.com/health (on the right hand side under advances against cancer) and ChicagoTribune.com/health (and then click the cancer central tab) to see the continuous work we do for the fight againstcancer.
One of the perks of being selected an Empowered Doctor Top Blog is being featured on a dedicated page on our website, as well as being profiled in upcoming articles. We would greatly appreciate you displaying your award badge, as many of our other nominees have. A few examples are: http://breastcancerbydrruddy.com/ ,

Hi Elizabeth,
I hope you’re having a good day. I’m in the process of starting a community of bloggers who have experiences or expertise relating to cancer, and I wanted to ask if you’d like to be part of it.
Every month, we’ll be sharing our favourite blogs, articles and thoughts on different topics around living with cancer. The aim is to build networks between all the great writers out there, and hopefully share some of our readers around too.
I thought you’d be a perfect addition to our list of members – would you be interested? We’re happy for members to contribute as little or as much as they’d like, but we’d love to feature some of your writing and share your wonderful blog with our readers!
Please feel free to drop me an email with any questions you might have – I hope to hear from you soon!
All the very best,
Emily
Hi Emily,
Thank you for the nice message as well as your interest in my blog. I would be very interested in learning more about your group. Are you part of an organization? If so, where can I learn more information? Are there any costs associated with publishing with your group? If so, you should know that I am not interested in participation. This blog is not a financial enterprise and I do not try to market it. Finally, you should know that 5+ years after my initial cancer diagnosis, my blog is less about cancer than other parts of my life.
